About Us

Who are we?

Dreamknot was formed in April 2002. It is owned and run by a husband and wife team Tristram and Mary and a dedicated office team.  In April 2007 Dreamknot launched a new site called www.theonlyringonline.com and relaunched also a new Dreamknot store. Mary has strong Celtic roots as she was born and raised in Ireland and moved to England when she was 18. She has travelled extensively throughout the world and through this developed an appreciation of different cultures and traditions, which naturally led to an interest in her own ancestors ‘The Celts’, their way of life and of course their amazing design’s.

Tristram was born in England but his family on his Mothers side where the Copelands from County Cork. His parents named him after Tristram’s who was one of the knights from King Arthur’s round table. His working backgound is more deeply rooted in antiquities and he worked in the family antiques business before he joined Mary at Dreamknot. Tristram takes all the photographs you see on the website, has a love of beautiful objects and good design which he has carried through into his jewellery.

Since March 2006 Mary and Tristram have based themselves in Montenegro but for despatch purposes and ease of postage all orders are despatch from Wales.  They divide their time between, Ireland, Wales and Montenegro.

Where are we Located?

Dreamknot is located in Colwyn Bay on the North East Coast of Wales in the County of Conwy. This area is overlooked by the Snowdonia National park, and is an area of great beauty and ancient Celtic influences. It's natural beauty makes it a perfect location to inspire Mary when she is designing jewellery. If you travel over to Anglesea on the far East Coast of Wales you can get the ferry to Ireland. Colwyn Bay is still less than an hour to major cities like Liverpool and Manchester. By train it is 3 hours to London Euston. Tristram and Mary do not have a retail shop in Wales, their business if operated purely through their websites.

Why we think you should buy from us?

With over 200 million people of Celtic descent, Dreamknot aims to promote Celtic art through its jewellery and crafts. The majority of the items are either solid silver, Gold or pewter, handcrafted and with a high quality finish. Each piece is made with care and attention and following the original designs but still with a very contemporary feel.

Dreamknot make their own Jewellery but also source some of their products from other craftspeople in the British Isles, who also work to very high standards and produce beautiful work. They have found by incorporating other peoples work as well as their own it gives a greater choice to the customer. Every piece of Celtic Jewellery holds a meaning and wisdom, to think that such an ancient art can still hold nuggets of wisdom that we can apply to our everyday lives now is incredible. Dreamknot believes this is what makes Celtic Jewellery important to them and to those who wear it. For gifts or for yourself you’ll never tire of its beautiful art form, which has been around for thousands of years, yet is never out of date.
